Our Story

Five years ago, in the weird quiet of late 2020, two architecture grads (hi 👋) decided to take a wild leap. With the world upside down and our design agency slowing down, we tried something totally out of left field: launching a line of laser-cut wooden puzzles just in time for the holidays. Within days, local news picked us up… then national news… and suddenly Puzzle Lab wasn’t just a side experiment; it had a pulse, a spirit, a future. 🔥

By early 2021, we’d started what would become our signature heartbeat: collaborating with Canadian artists and creating a royalty model that genuinely supports their craft. That’s when it stopped being “our project” and became a shared creative ecosystem.

In 2022, everyone told us retail was over… so naturally, we opened a brick-and-mortar store on Government St. And it worked. Beautifully. 😉

Then this past April, we took another bold step and moved into our dream flagship space just down the block. Overnight, business doubled. Our team has since grown to 20 brilliant humans, and we’re still catching our breath (in the best way). 🤩

So today, we’re celebrating five 🖐 years of listening to our intuition, trusting the creative spark, and building something that feels both grounded and alive.
